about THE GAME
BENEATH THE WOODS is a narrative-focused horror mystery game set in the fictional small town of Redscott Pines, Oregan. The story follows Davis, who returns to his hometown after two years of being away, to search for his missing sister, Mina. Enlisting help from Mina's closest friends, he follows a trail to an abandoned church in the woods where he begins to uncover the town's dark secrets ...
The game is the brainchild of Parham Sorooshian, a graduate of the Games Design and Development Masters Program at the National Film and Television School, in the United Kingdom. Having also majored in Computer Animation in Bournemouth University, and art and design at the University for the Creative Arts, Parham is passionate about telling thought-provoking stories through visual arts. He feels strongly that people are connected through their shared experiences and memories and strives to recreate these emotions through his stories.
The game's demo was released at EGX London in 2022 and the team hopes to be able to publish the full game in the future.
Meet the Characters
“𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲’𝘀 𝗮𝗻 𝗼𝗹𝗱 𝘀𝗮𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴, ‘𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗮𝘁 𝗮 𝗯𝗮𝗿𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵, 𝘆𝗼𝘂’𝗿𝗲 𝗴𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗮 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝗮 𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗿 𝗰𝘂𝘁.’”
We’ve never heard that quote before, but it makes complete sense if you think about it! Meet our lead character, Davis Parsaii. He puts on a tough exterior but you can count on him being around when push comes to shove. He’s back in Redscott Pines, albeit reluctantly after two years of being away, to look for his younger sis, Mina, who’s gone missing.

Meet Mina Parsaii - Davis’ dramatic but tough as nails younger sis. Life’s been a bit rough for her ever since Davis left Redscott Pines two years earlier, and Mina’s sudden disappearance is the sole reason why Davis is back in town.
“… 𝗶𝗳 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗮, 𝘄𝗲’𝗹𝗹 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗵𝗲𝗿. 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘆 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗶𝘁. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗻’𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂.”
Deputy to the Sheriff and single dad to Davis and Mina, Kamran works hard to provide for his kids, but tends to get swept up in his work. When Mina goes missing, he is forced to go by the books in finding her, all while doing his best to keep Davis out of trouble as he charges ahead with his own search.

Meet Annie MacNeil, one of the main characters in the game. One of Mina's closest friends, she’s a cool-headed straight shooter and knows when to bail when she senses danger. Can’t quite say the same for the rest of the gang!

Witty and argumentative by nature, Tyler cares deeply for his girlfriend, Mina, but he knows better than most that the people who go missing in Redscott Pines don’t come home.

Ronald Brecht is the face of law enforcement at Redscott Pines. For the past 15 years, he has been a pillar of the community, but his recent dismissive attitude towards a string of residents disappearing has raised eyebrows and left people questioning him.
